Welcoming Ralph into her home in February was a labor of love for Trader and her boyfriend, Cooper Richins. After extensive research to find a reputable breeder since last summer, they finally settled on Ralph, the biggest pup of his litter. Yet, it wasn't until he reached 13-15 weeks that they began to notice his paws outgrowing the rest of his body, leading to the humorous spectacle we see now.

"And since then, they just keep getting bigger!" says Trader.

Why Are Puppies' Paws So Large?

Ralph's oversized paws look almost comically large as he tries to adjust to his new proportion. Currently weighing in at 20 pounds, Ralph is likely to be on the larger end of the typical range for male English cocker spaniels, which is between 28 to 34 pounds, according to the American Kennel Club. Trader remains unconcerned about his rapid paw growth, labeling him a "growing big, little boy" and seeking reassurance from the vet that Ralph is, indeed, a healthy puppy.

As he navigates through this awkward phase of growth, Ralph's antics continue to amuse viewers online, who collectively root for him to grow into those gigantic paws. It's not difficult to see how a simple video can ignite such affection and joy across social platforms.
