A Philadelphia native, O'Grady was chosen by the Cincinnati Reds in the eighth round of the 2014 MLB Draft after a standout career at Rutgers. He climbed through the Reds' farm system and made his MLB debut in 2019. Though his major league stats included just 62 games with a slash line of .184/.283/.388, what stands out is his resilience and ability to adapt across various levels of professional play.

A Global Perspective

While his major league résumé was brief, it represented only a small portion of his professional career defined by a well-used passport. O'Grady played 658 games in the affiliated minor leagues before taking his talents internationally, with stops in Japan, South Korea, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic.
