A Recap of Last Week's Winner

It's been a remarkable season for our young athletes, and it seems that the softball players are making quite an impression! Recently, Airport's Olivia Tilley won the Athlete of the Week title for April 6-12, drawing an impressive 8,147 votes. This continues the trend of female athletes dominating the polls; Tilley followed fellow softballers Ally Griffith from Whiteford and Charleigh Meggison from Milan.

“The support for our athletes is phenomenal. Seeing so many votes pour in shows just how much the community cares,” Tilley expressed.

The Current Candidates

This week, the competition is fierce with a strong lineup vying for your votes. Here are the standout athletes you can support:

• Zamir Austin, Monroe Boys Track and Field: He achieved personal bests in the 100 and 200 meters, in addition to winning both long and high jumps in a tight victory over Ann Arbor Skyline.
• Luke Dulecki, New Boston Huron Boys Track and Field: Dominated the day by winning the 800, 1,600, 3,200, and the 3,200 relay, leading his team past Airport.
• Max Flint, SMCC Boys Lacrosse: Recorded a stunning nine goals during a win, showcasing his offensive prowess.
• Josh Hargraeves, Jefferson Boys Track and Field: Instrumental in leading his team to the championship of the Jefferson Invitational by winning the 400 meters and long jump.
• Julia Hughes, Ida Girls Track and Field: Set a school record of :46.58 in the high hurdles and shined in team relay events.
• Brooklyn Martin, Airport Softball: Achieved a five-inning perfect game against her opposition, which is nothing short of remarkable.
• Cash Moczydlowsky, New Boston Huron Baseball: Threw his second career no-hitter, nearly clinching a perfect game, showcasing his pitching supremacy.
