Known for playing multiple positions at Caledonia High School in Minnesota, Hammell has officially committed as a linebacker, a role the UND coaching staff is eager to develop.

At 6-foot-3 and 210 pounds, Hammell is poised to elevate UND's 2027 recruiting class, which now boasts ten members. He had several options on the table, including an offer from South Dakota and six competitive Division II programs. "I've been up there several times the last few years with camps and visits. The whole coaching staff was huge for me and how much they believed in me as a player and person," Hammell shared.
