A year ago, Dominic Knapp couldn't get past the district level, but today, after a season of hard work and dedication, he stands as the state champion in the OHSAA Division III boys pole vault. It's insane to think about how far I've come with my father, my coaches, and Austin (Hicks) at Buckeye Pole Vaulting Academy. It's been an amazing journey."

This accomplishment came on his second attempt, edging out Perry's Traxton Richards, who was unable to match the mark.
