Last weekend, the Rebels solidified their homestand by defeating Manchester 85-72, a decisive victory that sets the stage for their upcoming quarter-final clash against the formidable London Lions. Perhaps more encouraging is their recent track history against the Lions, having already bested them twice during the regular season.

"It's an exciting time with playoffs ahead of us. Being able to play at home means everything to us, especially with our fans supporting us. Securing that spot and knowing we'll play at home is a massive advantage," shared Rebels point guard Paige Meyer.

"We've talked about the momentum we want going into the playoffs, so these recent wins help us feel confident as we approach this next challenge," Meyer noted.

Securing third place represents a significant milestone for the Rebels, marking the highest seeding for the team since its inception in the league. Meyer reflected on this achievement, noting, "It's been thrilling to be part of this progressive journey and exciting to see the legacy we are establishing for future seasons."

Inspiring the Next Generation

The Rebels not only aim for playoff success but also invest in nurturing future female athletes through their thriving girls' program, which boasts 60 regular players from under-12 up to under-18 levels. Director Anjuli Symonds emphasized the importance of fostering a supportive environment for young girls, mirroring the opportunities available for boys.

"It's vital for us to enhance the girls' pathway to match that of the boys. Our SLBW team is setting a powerful example for our young players to aspire to," Symonds remarked.

The Stage Awaits

Both SLB finals are set to take place at London's iconic O2 Arena on May 17, an event the Rebels have set their sights on with determination.

"That stage is something we aim for; it would represent an incredible achievement for our team and club. But we understand the importance of focusing on one game at a time," said Meyer.
