With two of her own dogs having recently passed, she came to a poignant realization: “I decided not to let Irma suffer the same fate as her brother, so I adopted her myself,” she declared passionately. “Every dog should experience a home before they leave this world.”

Irma's journey took a life-changing turn when she traveled from Greece to Finland, where she is beginning to settle into her new home. “I do animal-assisted social work with children, so my dogs serve as therapy dogs,” Toivonen explained. “Irma will join the team after she has settled in.” This new chapter allows Irma not just to enjoy a loving home, but to enrich the lives of children through her presence.
