The Stars of the Class of 2026

The University of North Dakota (UND) Letterwinners Athletics Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2026, a group that exemplifies excellence, dedication, and a lasting impact on their respective sports. Athletic Director Bill Chaves and Letterwinners Association President Tim Skarperud unveiled the honorees this past Monday, shedding light on the incredible careers that have led to this moment.

Set to be honored on October 2 at the Alerus Center, this year's inductees span across sports from swimming to hockey, and from soccer to basketball.

The inductees include:

• Brian Strom (Swimming & Diving, 1990-2016)
• Weston Dressler (Football, 2004-07)
• Jeff Panzer (Men's Hockey, 1997-01)
• Chad Mustard (Men's Basketball, 1996-00)
• Michelle Karvinen (Women's Hockey, 2011-14)
• Jen (Cilz) Hodny (Soccer, 1999-01, 2003)
• Becky (Moen) Behrens (Women's Basketball, 1999-03)
• Jenny (Boll) Christofferson (Women's Basketball, 1999-03)

Additionally, we'll see two men's hockey teams recognized for their stellar performances: the 1957-58 team and the 2000-01 team, which both brought pride to the Fighting Sioux legacy.

Weston Dressler

Affectionately dubbed "Mr. Electricity," Dressler set 19 school records during his time as a receiver and was a standout performer with 14 All-America selections. His influence didn't end at college—he continued to electrify fans in the Canadian Football League, joining the ranks of the greats.

Michelle Karvinen

Karvinen's outstanding career on the ice not only broke records at UND but also led her to standout performances in international competitions, including five Olympic appearances. Her journey is a testament to the power of hard work and determination.

This year marks the 51st annual Hall of Fame event, and it promises to be one for the ages.
