After a commanding performance where he cleared 6.12 meters with ease, Duplantis aimed higher—specifically, 6.32 meters, just a centimeter beyond his current record. American Olympic champion Masai Russell sizzled in the women's 100m hurdles, clocking the fastest time of the year at 12.25 seconds. Meanwhile, in the men's 110m hurdles, world champion Cordell Tinch faced fierce competition from fellow American Jamal Britt, ultimately losing out.

Women's Shot Put and 5000m Results

In the women's shot put, the Netherlands' Jessica Schilder stood out with an impressive throw of 21.09m, putting her ahead of the two-time world champion Chase Jackson. The men's 800m saw a nail-biting finish as Ireland's Mark English edged out competitors Kethobogile Haingura and Brandon Miller in a scramble for the line.

Kenya's Faith Kipyegon also made headlines, winning her first outdoor 5000m race of the year with a time of 14:24.14, the best so far. Her post-race remarks highlighted her ambitions:

"I feel so good; it was a good race. A positive season opener," said Kipyegon, who aims to excel in both the 1500m and 5000m.
