Among the standout tracks is "Salt Then Sour Then Sweet," a song co-written with Carlile and the late poet and activist Andrea Gibson. This piece was short-listed for Best Original Song at the 98th Academy Awards and appears in the Peabody Award-winning documentary Come See Me in the Good Light, which Bareilles executive produced.

The making of Good Grief was captured in a film titled Sara Bareilles: Good Grief, premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival on Thursday. The documentary offers an unfiltered look into Bareilles' creative process, painting a picture of her return to the studio after years of silence.
