The lack of nutritious food has taken a toll on the children's physical health. Habib, for instance, suffers from kidney stones—a condition exacerbated by his diet heavy in salt and canned goods. "If Ubay wants cucumbers, and the children like cucumbers, I buy three cucumbers, that's it," Radwan says.
